What Your Weekend Bag Says A lot About You
If you have a nice leather bag with a few carefully-chosen pieces for the weekend, you are probably an experienced traveler and feel at home in different cultures. You may work in a creative industry, or have a creative side project. You know what you like and what works for you, and you are probably not afraid to express your style with the clothes you wear.
If your bag is from L.L. Bean, you don’t mind getting dirty on the weekend. You may have grown up playing sports or camping with your family and feel comfortable outdoors. Or maybe you just really like J Crew and their clothes remind you of your childhood. Either way, if this is your bag, you probably spend your weekends going to sporting events or outdoorsy activities rather than sitting in coffee shops reading books.
If it’s a backpack that’s practically falling apart, it shows that either money is tight or that buying material things isn’t very important to you. Maybe you do work in a creative industry but don’t feel the need to show off your creativity with expensive clothes or bags. Maybe it’s just not worth it to buy new things because they will just get worn out or dirty on the weekend anyways. Maybe it’s
I’m always on the lookout for what I call “weekend bags.”You know, those bags you carry around every day, work to work, and end up carrying when you’re out with friends on the weekends. As a bag blogger, I’m interested in seeing what people carry around with them every day. After all, it says a lot about you!
If someone carries nothing but a laptop to work in their bag, they must be very busy and professional. If they have a nice big purse or shoulder bag, they probably like to do things outside of work that require supplies like notebooks and pens. And if someone carries around nothing but a small crossbody bag, then I bet that person is organized and efficient with their time.
What does your weekend bag say about you?
You’ve probably heard the phrase, “Your eyes are the window to your soul.” Well, I’m here to tell you your weekend bag is the window to your character. We all have different styles and tastes, and it’s fascinating how a simple bag can reveal so much about who you are.
There are three types of bags: the weekend bag, the work bag, and the gym bag. There is a lot of crossover between these types of bags, but they each serve a distinct purpose. Your choice in which type of bag you choose to use for each occasion says a lot about you as a person.
This is the main type of bag that most people use. It comes in many shapes and sizes, but it usually has two handles for easy carrying. This type of bag is perfect for taking with you when traveling or just spending time at home on a Saturday afternoon.
This type of bag can be used for anything from carrying groceries to storing books and laptops (even though it should go without saying that books should never be carried in any kind of plastic shopping bag).
The weekend bag is what most people use as their main form of transportation between places, as it is often easier than driving
When you walk into the office on Monday morning, there’s always a chance you might run into your boss in the elevator. It’s important to be prepared for that eventuality – it’s a chance to show off your leadership potential and assert yourself as a valuable member of the team. What better way to do that than with your weekend bag?
If you’re carrying a backpack, your colleagues will see you as a maverick risk-taker, willing to color outside the lines and break the rules. You are someone who challenges authority and demands excellence in all aspects of life.
If you’re carrying a duffel bag, your colleagues will see you as someone who is confident and self-assured. But they may also see you as someone who is aloof, arrogant, and unwilling to compromise. Duffels say “I go my own way,” while backpacks say “I can work well with others.”
If you’re carrying an overnight bag, your colleagues will see you as an intellectual. Someone who values books over people. Someone whose first priority is learning and education – not making friends or having fun.
A messenger bag says that you are willing to get your hands dirty for the sake of success. You are ready and willing to roll up your
When you think about what to bring with you when you’re running out the door, do you consider how other people might interpret your bag?
No, we didn’t think so. Your bag is your bag is your bag, right? Not so fast. It turns out that the way you pack for a weekend away can say a lot about who you are as a person.
Here are some common bags, and what they say about their owners:
1) The Backpacker: You’re a hard-working person through and through. But when the weekend comes, it’s time to party! You’ll throw anything in your backpack and head off for an adventure – even if that adventure is just meeting up with friends for beers at the local bar.
2) The Messenger: You’re always on the go, from work to home to happy hour and back again. Having both hands free lets you get things done faster – whether that means texting or actually getting things done is up to you.
3) The Briefcase: OK – this one isn’t exactly a weekend bag, but we couldn’t help but include it here. If you’re still carrying around your briefcase after work hours, there’s a good chance that work is all that matters to you
Let’s face it: it’s your weekend bag, so you are going to pack what you want. But what does that say about you?
As a stylist and trend forecaster, I’ve worked with many clients who claim they don’t care what people think. Even so, these same clients are always curious about how others perceive them.
While I can’t solve the mysteries of human behavior, I can explain what people think of you based on your weekend bags. So let’s dive in!
*Leather duffel bag:* You’re a badass. You probably spend your weekends doing something outdoors like hunting, fishing or playing polo. Or maybe you’re just trying to look like you do. Either way, this is one of the best bags out there for looking masculine without being too macho.
*Canvas duffel bag:* You’re a hipster or at least want to look like one. This is the trendy choice for young millennials who want to be viewed as cool but don’t want to spend much money on their weekend bags. The canvas material says “I’m laid-back” while the price tag says “I’m broke.”
*Gym bag:* You’re an athlete, or at least want
A briefcase is a sign that you take your job seriously. A messenger bag shows your casual side. A tote bag, which is what women tend to carry, seems to say “I have too much stuff and I don’t care who knows it.”
If you go to the office with a backpack, you’re either a junior employee or you’re a senior one rebelling against the dress code.
A rolling suitcase means you travel a lot, but not so much that you’ve given up on the idea of having something cute to carry on the plane.
An overstuffed bag says “I’m not organized,” but if it looks like it’s about to burst open at any minute, that could be interpreted as “I’m really not organized.”
We often think of our handbags as an extension of ourselves. They hold our most important things: wallet, keys, phone and computer. You might want to rethink what message you want to send out though; Are shoulder bags bad for your health?
