Our Top 10 Tips for booking the perfect vacation

Our Top 10 Tips for booking the perfect vacation:

1. What is your budget?

When it comes to taking a vacation, you first need to decide what kind of trip you want to take and how much money you want to spend. Your vacation type will help you determine your destination. Are you looking for a relaxing getaway on the beach or do you want nonstop adventure? Once you have decided on the type of getaway, determine the amount of money you are willing to spend. This will help narrow down where in the world your next great escape will be.

2. Solve the flight dilemma

Airlines are constantly changing their rates, so it’s hard to know if you’re getting the best deal. To make things easier, we created a “Flexible with dates” feature that allows travelers to see prices three days before and after their ideal travel dates. Travelers can also easily compare flight prices by day or month using our “Show calendar of lowest fares” feature. In addition, if travelers want to stretch their dollar even further, they can save up to 50% off published airfares by choosing one of our many Exclusive Nonstop Vacation Flights. These flights depart from select cities

Your Top 10 Tips for booking the perfect vacation:

Research the right place to stay

Will you be looking for a hotel, condo or home rental? While we all love the charm of a vintage hotel, there are times when a hotel is just not practical. If you have more than 2 people traveling with you, it may be more ideal to choose a condo or home rental. The extra space and added amenities like a full kitchen, laundry room and even a pool can make your trip so much more enjoyable.

If you do decide to go with a hotel, be sure to check reviews as well as its proximity to public transportation or other amenities that may enhance your stay.

Look for deals on flights and hotels

Even if you have your heart set on a particular place and hotel, don’t book until you’ve checked out the latest deals. You might be surprised by what is available at a price that will fit within your budget. And if the rates still aren’t low enough, consider booking 2 one-way tickets from different airlines. They might cost less than flying roundtrip on one airline (especially if you compare economy vs business class) and give you more options for getting around once you arrive.

Get travel insurance

We know

1. Don’t be afraid to ask. Most travel agents are more than willing to bend over backwards to make your vacation perfect. If you know it’s in the budget, then ask if they can take care of it!

2. Do your homework. It’s always a good idea to have a general idea of what you want before you get started. There are so many options for everything from hotels, to airlines, that it helps to have an idea of what you’re looking for in your head before you get started.

3. Be flexible with dates and times. It often helps with booking if you can be flexible with your dates and times of travel. The less restrictions, the easier it is for them to find exactly what you want at a great price!

4. Ask about smaller cities and airports (if possible). Smaller airports tend to cost less, but sometimes if you live far away from one it can be difficult to get there.

5. Be open minded about hotels and resorts. Often times there are fantastic deals on lesser known hotels or resorts that might not be right on the beach or as fancy as others but still offer great service and beautiful scenery at a fraction of the price!

1. Give yourself plenty of time to plan

If you’re in need of a vacation, or if you just want to get away for a weekend, consider booking with a travel agency. Travel agencies can help book flights, hotels and car rentals. They’ll also be able to help you plan your trip, recommend things to do and ensure you have an amazing experience.

There are many benefits of using a travel agency instead of doing it yourself online.

Below are some tips on finding the perfect travel agency:

1. Ask around. See if any friends, family or co-workers have used a good travel agency they’d recommend.

2. Once you’ve found a few agencies that look promising, check their websites to make sure they’re trustworthy and reliable.

3. Reach out to these agencies via email or phone call and ask about their services, pricing and fees. Also ask if they offer discounts for special events like birthdays or anniversaries.

4. Choose an agent you feel comfortable with and who seems knowledgeable about the area where you want to go — whether that’s Hawaii or Europe or anywhere else in the world!

5. Make sure the agent has all your information down correctly before the trip so there won’t be any confusion later on!

1. Know your budget.

If you don’t know how much you have to spend on a vacation, then you can’t plan the perfect vacation. There is no way around it. If you don’t know your budget, then you will end up spending too much on your vacation and then regretting it when you get home.

2. Set goals for your trip

Do you want to visit a specific destination or do something special? Do you have a dream vacation? Talk to your spouse, family, best friend or whoever else is going on this trip with you and figure out what kind of trip to take and where to go.

3. How long is your vacation?

How many days do you want to take off of work and relax? Make sure it’s enough time, because nothing is worse than taking a week off only to realize that you need more time away from work. However, don’t take off more than two weeks at a time unless absolutely necessary, as I learned the hard way when I took off three weeks in a row and ended up hating every minute of it (read my story here).

1. Set a budget and stick to it

2. Time is money. Think about what time of year you want to go. When you choose your travel dates, be sure to factor in the weather conditions of your destination. Do you want to be on the beach when it’s hot and sunny? Or are you wanting to go skiing in the snow?

3. Do your research. Go online and find out about all the deals that are available for your chosen destination. Many websites offer great last-minute deals which can save you money if you’re not too fussy about when and where you go.

4. Consider booking a package deal which includes flight, accommodation and car hire in one price

5. Take advantage of the many loyalty programs offered by airlines, hotels and car hire companies

6. Consider booking accommodation that has a kitchen so that you can buy groceries and cook some meals rather than eating out every day

7. Pack lightly so that you can save money on baggage fees or make use of low-cost airlines

8. If traveling with children, bring along snacks as well as coloring books, small toys or other activities which can help keep them entertained during the flight or while waiting at airports

9. Contact your bank or credit
