Traveling with children is a wonderful experience but finding the perfect family vacation can be challenging. There are so many things to consider: age of your children, interests, weather, budget, etc.
We’ve found that one of the best ways to plan a successful family trip is to choose a destination that will appeal to every member of your family. Whether it’s an amusement park, a family theme park or a unique travel destination; our goal here at Kid Friendly Destinations is to help point you in the right direction when it comes to planning your next family vacation.
We’ve created this website as way to share our thoughts and experiences on some of the best destinations for kids!
Orlando is the theme park capital of the world, but it’s also home to some of Florida’s best beaches, kid-friendly attractions, and a variety of dining options. From relaxing on the beach to wading through one of Florida’s many natural springs to exploring state parks, Orlando has plenty of things to do for families with young children.
When you think Orlando, Disney World is usually the first thing that comes to mind. But there are many other family-friendly attractions in this destination city. At SeaWorld Orlando, tackle extreme water slides at Aquatica or visit Jurassic Park – and that’s just the beginning. For a more adventurous time, take your family to Discovery Cove where you can swim with dolphins or snorkel through underwater reefs.

Family travel is a huge opportunity to create incredible memories with your kids. But as anyone who has traveled with kids knows, it’s not always easy.
We know because our founder is a mother of three and has taken her children on many adventures around the world.
But there are so many amazing places to take your kids, where should you start? We’ve gathered some great tips from families who have been there and done that to get you started.
1. Start planning early!
2. Make sure your destination has what you want!
3. Be flexible about the weather!
4. Read reviews for hotels, attractions, and restaurants and make your own “must-see” list!
Imagine you and your family are on a vacation to your favorite destination. Your children are playing on the beach, building sand castles, swimming, and having the time of their lives in an amazing location. You are relaxing and enjoying watching your kids have fun.
Now imagine that there is an emergency. You need to get to a hospital quickly but you need to travel over 100 miles to reach one. You don’t speak the language and there is no one around that can help you.
The point here is this: everyone knows where they want to vacation but no one thinks about what they would do if they had a serious medical emergency while on vacation. And it happens more often than you think!
Here are some important questions to consider:
Is there a hospital near your vacation destination? What quality of care will they be able to provide? Do they speak English? Will they be able to communicate with my physicians at home? Will my insurance cover me? Will I have access to my medications?
These are just some of the questions that come up when planning for travel abroad.
