Here’s How You Can Get Global Entry for FREE

I regularly meet people who travel a lot, and a frequent question I get is “how do you make your life so easy at the airport?” or “how do you speed through immigration so quickly?” It’s not because I’m special; it’s because I have some special programs that make my life easier. If you travel internationally, you should know about them.

The two programs are Global Entry and TSA PreCheck. Both of these programs allow me to bypass the long lines at customs and security, respectively. The result is less stress and more time to relax before or after a flight.

Global Entry costs $100 for 5 years. You can read about the enrollment process on the CBP website. However, if you have a credit card that offers “travel credits,” you might be able to get Global Entry for free!

How to Get Global Entry for FREE:

The Global Entry program allows travelers to get through U.S. Customs faster when returning from international travel. In addition, Global Entry members also get TSA PreCheck benefits, allowing them to breeze through airport security without having to remove their shoes, laptops or liquids at participating airports. While the application process is pretty straightforward, many people still have questions about how to qualify for Global Entry and how to apply. Here are a few tips on how you can get Global Entry for free!

Global Entry is a program that allows you to skip the long security lines at the airport. It has recently become very popular. This program was designed by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in order to expedite the process of clearing customs for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. The Global Entry kiosks are available at many major airports.

You may be wondering: “How can I get Global Entry for free?” Great question! It’s actually pretty easy, and I’m going to show you how.

The Global Entry Program costs $100 per person, and it lasts five years. Not a bad deal, right? But what if I could show you how to get it for free? Sound good? Keep reading…

Yup, you read that right! If you have Citi Prestige or Citi ThankYou Premier card, you will receive a statement credit of up to $100 every five years as reimbursement for your application fee charged to your card

I have a friend who travels internationally once or twice a year and gets Global Entry every time. If you don’t know what Global Entry is, it’s a program through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. Members enter the United States through automatic kiosks at select airports.

But instead of paying $100 every time he renews his Global Entry, he simply applies for a new credit card that offers a Global Entry application fee reimbursement whenever he wants to renew his status. I didn’t even know you could do this until recently!

This is how you can get your Global Entry fee reimbursed for free:

1) Pick your favorite credit card that offers Global Entry reimbursement and apply for it;

2) Get approved and pay the $100 application fee with that card;

3) Wait to be approved (it usually takes up to 2 months);

4) Once you are approved and enrolled in the program, put all of your regular expenses on that card;

5) Pay off your balance in full every month to avoid any interest charges;

6) Use your favorite reward travel

You might have heard of Global Entry, but have no idea what it is. It’s actually a pretty simple concept: Global Entry is a program run by the U.S. Government that allows expedited customs and immigration clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States. As a member of Global Entry, you will receive expedited clearance upon arrival in the United States, including automated kiosks at select airports where you can avoid long lines and complete your documentation in minutes.

Global Entry membership also includes TSA Pre✓™ benefits which provides expedited screening at participating airports.

If you travel internationally then this is probably something that you should be looking into getting. Global Entry allows you to bypass long customs lines when returning to the US, which can be quite beneficial if you return during peak travel times or are just plain tired after traveling all day.

To be eligible for Global Entry you must be a citizen of the United States (or a Dutch citizen), and not have any disqualifying criminal convictions or immigration violations.

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t travel as much as I used to. But when I do, I want every part of my trip to go smoothly.

And it usually does, except for one thing: getting through customs and immigration at the airport.

I’m not talking about waiting in line — that’s an issue everywhere. No, I’m talking about the process itself. It just seems like there should be a better way.

Well, there is a better way: Global Entry.

Global Entry is an expedited clearance process for pre-approved travelers entering the US from abroad. This is done via self-service kiosks in select airports where you verify your identity by inserting your passport or US permanent resident card into the provided slot, scanning your fingerprints and answering a few customs declaration questions on the touch screen. No need to wait for a CBP officer; you get your receipt and you’re good to go!

The only downside is that Global Entry costs money: $100 for five years of membership. That’s not exactly cheap — but one of my credit cards will reimburse me for the application fee, which makes this benefit well worth it!
