The Japanese are known for their love of the ocean. Whether it be surfing, fishing, or simply relaxing on the beach, the Japanese have a deep respect and admiration for their beautiful coastline. It is no surprise then that they have been drawn to cruises. The fine dining, luxurious accommodations and varied shore excursions make cruise vacations appealing to everyone.

The cruise industry in Asia is booming and shows no signs of slowing down in the near future. Cruises provide travelers with a convenient and affordable way to visit several destinations within a region on a single trip. Cruise vacations also provide the added benefit of not having to pack and unpack your bags at each hotel stop.

I will soon be visiting Japan for the second time and this time I am planning to explore its many ports on a cruise vacation with my young children. I have done some research on the various cruise lines that service Japan as well as their itineraries and prices so that I can make an informed decision about which cruise we would like to take during our stay there this summer.

When you think of Japan, what do you think of? The world’s brightest, most neon-lit cityscapes? Its majestic mountains and valleys? Its delicious cuisine?

You might not think of a cruise. Though it’s a bit unusual for a country with thousands of miles of coastline that surrounds four major islands and over 6,800 smaller ones, cruising is still a relatively new phenomenon in Japan. An influx of larger ships from international cruise lines are now visiting Japanese ports as part of their worldwide itineraries. Before your next trip to the Land of the Rising Sun, why not consider cruising around it?

Nagasaki has been an important port city since the 1600s. Today, the city is known for its port and its interesting history. Nagasaki was one of only two cities in Japan to be bombed by the United States during World War II; today it memorializes this tragic event at the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. Another unique aspect to Nagasaki is its Christian heritage; Christianity was introduced here by European missionaries in the 16th century. My name is Cordelia and I’m a travel agent specialising in cruises. I love my job and I have been on many great trips – but I think cruising is the best way to travel for anyone who wants to see the world, but does not want to spend all their time on a plane or in a car.

I am going to share with you my experiences of cruising to some of the most beautiful places in the world, as well as some tips on how to get the best out of your cruise holiday.

Cruising provides the easiest and most comfortable way to see many different places around the world. A cruise ship enables you to wake up each day in a new place, usually with no need to unpack or pack anything, or even leave your hotel room! Yet you will still be able to experience each place’s unique culture and cuisine.

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation where you can also explore new places and cultures, then take a look at my blog posts below and let me know what you think.

I’m a cruise fan, with over 30 cruises to my name. My favorite is the Crystal Symphony and I prefer having a balcony cabin.

I’ve traveled on many of the major cruise lines and have also visited a number of ports around the world, including Asia, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. I’m always open to new ports that might make it onto my bucket list!
