Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge was established in 1901 as a safe haven for species native to southern Great Plains, including bison, Rocky Mountain elk, white-tailed deer and wild turkey. In 1905, a herd of Texas longhorn cattle were added as a conservation effort to preserve the genes of this historic breed that played such an integral part in the settling of the West.

The refuge is also home to prairie dogs, which many other species depend on for food and shelter. Once considered a pest by ranchers and farmers, prairie dogs now have federal protection under the Endangered Species Act because their numbers have dramatically declined over the years.

We all like to travel to places that we can experience beautiful outdoor scenery. This site will provide you with the best places to visit in the United States and around the world. We will also give you tips on how to get there, what to bring, and how to prepare.

Some of our favorite destinations include Yosemite National Park, the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, and many more!

With its towering trees, snow-capped mountains, and dense green forests, America is a majestic wonder land. There are many places to visit in the United States that are known for their natural beauty and unique features.

The best thing about visiting these places is that they are not only beautiful but also have a rich history and culture associated with them.

All of these natural wonders are worth exploring when you travel to the United States. Whether you’re looking for an adventure or just want to explore some of the most beautiful places in America, here are some of our favorites:

-The Grand Canyon: This massive canyon was formed over millions of years by the Colorado River eroding away at layers of sedimentary rock. It’s one of the seven natural wonders of the world and it’s easy to see why! The canyon is 277 miles long and 18 miles wide at its widest point. It’s hard not to be impressed by such an amazing feat of nature.

-Yellowstone National Park: Home to more than 300 species of animals including bears, elk and bison, Yellowstone National Park is one of America’s oldest and most popular national parks. It also has over 200 waterfalls which makes it a great place to go hiking or fishing if you’re feeling

The Great Falls of the Potomac River are located in Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC. The falls are formed by a series of rapids in the river where the water approaches a series of steep, jagged rocks. The falls are best seen from either side of the river; there is no way to walk across the river at this point.

The falls are most majestic when they are at full flow, typically during spring months or after a heavy rainfall. While the falls may not be as large as many others in America, they are still quite impressive. There is even a dam called Great Falls Dam that was built to harness the power of the waterfalls!

The area has been used for hydroelectric power since 1906. While dams have reduced the impact of the waterfall, it is still possible to see some of its glory from park areas on both sides of the river. This is also one of the most popular places for kayaking and white water rafting in Maryland.
